Sarah Giest has been Assistant Professor at the Institute of Public Administration, Leiden University, since September 2014. Sarah obtained her PhD in Political Science at Simon Fraser University, Vancouver (BC, Canada) and further holds two Master degrees, one in Political Science from Bonn University (Germany) and the other one in Society, Science and Technology Studies from Aalborg (Denmark) and Lund University (Sweden). In her research, Sarah mainly focuses on the comparative analysis of innovation and climate change policies with special focus on network structures and knowledge brokers. Her ongoing research includes aspects of responsible innovation, policy failure and knowledge transfer in innovation clusters. Sarah Giest is currently teaching courses on Research Design for Master students, the Governing of science, society and expertise in the Honours College and a Pre-master course on Public Organization and Policy Theory.
